What is an event illustrator?
An event illustrator is a professional artist who comes to events to provide live on-the-spot illustrations and entertainment for your guests.
What makes live art entertainment so great?
An event is nothing without it’s guests and by having an in-person illustrator create hand-made personalized gifts you will show how much your guests really matter to you. It's not very often that we get to watch art be created before our eyes and even less often that you get to be the subject of that art. Guests will be surprised, excited, and absolutely in love with the art that they get to be apart of and keep forever. Making an experience that truly lasts requires having an authentic emotional connection, and that's exactly what an event illustrator gives.

How does it work?
On the day of your event our illustrator will come and set up at a table with all the supplies necessary to create portraits. Guests will be able to come up at any point during the event to have the illustrator create a quick watercolor portrait. Each portrait takes around 5-7 minutes to create. Once the portrait is complete, it's put into a clear plastic sleeve and given to the guest to take home!

FAQ
Can you do events outside of Utah? Yes! I am based in Salt Lake City, Utah, but am happy to travel outside of the state (or even country!) You would be expected to cover the cost of the flight to and from the event location, rental car or public transportation costs, and the cost of overnight accommodations. The cost of these things will depend on the location. I typically will find and book all of the needed travel accomidations to get to the event and send over a final invoice. I am a budget traveler though and will typically try to book everything as cheap as I can to help save costs!
How long does each portrait take to make? Each portrait takes about around 5-8 minutes to complete depending on the style and how many people are in the portrait
How does booking a service work? The first step is to go to the contact page and send me a message. Let me know which service you would like and provide as much information about the event that you can. This will help me determine if there are any circumstances that would require pricing changes and will help me give you a final quote. Once a final price and details for the services are agreed upon, a contact will be sent over for you to sign and arrangements for payment will be made. If you are requesting live event portraits, at least 50% of the total cost must be paid as a non-refundable deposit before your booking can be confirmed.
What do I need to provide? You will need to provide a place in the venue with a table and at least two chairs, one for the illustrator and one across the table for the guest to sit at. The illustrator will provide all the paper and drawing utencils as well as a sign that explains what this is and what to do (unless the event planner wants to provide their own sign to match with the theme or style).
How much does it cost to hire an event illustrator? The cost to hire an event illustrator varies depending on several factors including the time spent at the event, travel cost to venue location, and the type of art being requested at the event. A general price range is given on the Services & Pricing page but you will need to fill out the contact form to receive a more accurate quote for your specific event.
What if I want something a bit different than what's listed under the services? We would love to hear what ideas you have in mind and are open to collaborating and providing custom services if it's in the range of our illustrator's abilities! Send us a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
How far in advanced should I book an illustrator? You should book an event illustrator as soon as possible! Bookings fill up fast so as soon as you know your events date reach out to reserve your day!
